Overall the best
When I tested the TicWatch Pro 5, I found that it really can do everything. With a generous number of features, incredible battery life, and tons of fitness tracking benefits, it’s one of the best Android smartwatches on the market – and why it’s still a daily watch for me.
However, what you’ll probably notice first is the uniquely brilliant display. The TicWatch Pro 5 uses layered display technology, which helps extend battery life even further. For example, in day mode you can use all the functions of your watch, but you have to charge it every night. There’s also Advanced Mode, which allows you to use essential features and only requires charging every few days or so.
When it comes to features and tracking, there is a lot to explore. For starters, you’ll love voice-activated Google Assistant, mobile payments with Google Pay, built-in GPS, heart rate monitoring, activity/sleep tracking, smartphone notifications, and more. Although the design is slimmer and lighter than previous Pro models, it still comes in a 50mm case. It might be too big for some wrists, so that’s something to think about. It’s not in the price range, but when you get a handle on it, this is one of the best TicWatch smartwatches on the market.
Best value
Given the price, I was concerned about how much the Ticwatch E3 could offer. However, when I looked at the watch, I quickly realized that it was a fantastic wearable device. This is especially true if you’re a budget-conscious buyer who doesn’t want to spend a fortune on a smartwatch.
First of all, you get the older Snapdragon Wear 4100 chipset, which still delivers amazing performance. The lightweight design will look familiar, as it’s largely in line with what we’ve seen on previous TicWatch E models. You get a 1.3-inch HD display with a large bezel around the watch face. This model is compatible with 20mm removable straps and has an IP68 water resistance rating, suitable for swimming in the pool.
The TicWatch E3 also offers a wide range of health/fitness functions. They have built-in GPS, activity/sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen tracking, and more. There’s also a built-in microphone and speaker for Google Assistant and NFC for Google Pay. You also have to accept the mediocre battery life, apart from the bulky bezel that you just hate. It typically lasts two days on a single charge, but you can also opt for Essential Mode. This limits certain functions to extend battery life when needed.
Best for outside
You won’t find a better smartwatch for your outdoor lifestyle than the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra. Wherever you go, the Pro 3 Ultra can take it with you. When I checked the watch, I took it on camping trips, felling trees on my property, and various training sessions, and it kept running. When you combine that level of durability with unlimited tracking features, including proactive sports modes, swim monitoring and swimming style detection, built-in GPS, heart rate sensor and sleep tracking, there’s not much the Pro 3 Ultra can do. That doesn’t work.
The proactive sport modes allow you to continue at your own pace without slowing down to mess with your watch. It is based on TicMotion, Mobvoi’s suite of proprietary AI algorithms. It proactively detects your movement, tracks your swimming activity and provides your fitness data without you having to press or do anything. The dual-layer display ensures that you always have all the important information in view and extends the battery up to 30 days in Essential mode. Just get started and it will follow your lead.
Best entry-level model
It’s not much, but the TicWatch GTH is the best entry-level TicWatch available. First of all, it costs around $25 at most retailers, which is an insanely cheap price for any wearable. The fitness tracker looks pretty stylish and you also enjoy many other benefits like heart rate monitoring, activity tracking, SpO2 measurement, a skin temperature sensor and more.
Although you won’t enjoy fancy features like NFC payments, the battery lasts up to 10 days, which is extremely useful for busy people. There’s also sleep and stress tracking on board, so you can get pretty good use out of the humble TicWatch GTH.
They’re all great, but the best TicWatch ultimately depends on your needs
