Best of both worlds
The Zenfone 11 Ultra has excellent hardware that can easily compete with the best phones available today, and you get clean, bloatware-free software and a refined user interface. The cameras aren’t quite on the level of the Pixel 8 Pro or Galaxy S24 Ultra, but if you want a larger ASUS phone, the Zenfone 11 Ultra is an easy recommendation.
Ultimate gaming phone
The ROG Phone 8 Pro is an incredible gaming phone, but it doesn’t have the same aggressive design that characterized previous devices. Instead, you have a much slimmer design that looks good in its own right, but ASUS hasn’t left out any of the gaming extras. If you need a phone to play games on Android, the ROG Phone 8 Pro is the best of all.
Best little phone
The Zenfone 10 is a subtle upgrade over the Zenfone 9, but you still get the same great feel in your hand. There is no other phone that gives you the same great features in such a small size, and if you need a small phone, the Zenfone 10 is the right choice.
ASUS ROG Phone 7 Ultimate
Gaming powerhouse
The ROG Phone 7 Ultimate continues to be an outstanding gaming phone with a large AMOLED screen that hits an insane 165Hz, phenomenal liquid-cooled hardware and a 6000mAh battery. The phone features an eye-catching design, a second screen on the back that can be customized with various effects, ultrasonic triggers on the sides that you can use for in-game actions, and a side-mounted USB-C port.
The best gaming value
The ROG Phone 7 retains the best features of the ROG Phone 7 Pro, the only difference being that the design isn’t quite the same and the second screen on the back isn’t as useful. However, it is much cheaper.
ASUS ROG Phone 6D Ultimate
The best of MediaTek
The ROG Phone 6D Ultimate is almost identical to the ROG Phone 6 Pro, but there are some key differences. It is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000+ and features a vent that opens to allow cool air to flow into the case. The AeroActive Cooler from ASUS is included in delivery. Although it is not officially available in North America, you can purchase it in other global markets.
If you want the best ASUS phone, get the Zenfone 11 Ultra
With ASUS now focusing on two different product lines, the company isn’t making as many phones as it used to. Still, this condensed strategy works well for the brand and the Zenfone 11 Ultra is a great overall product that gets the basics right. It’s not a small phone like its predecessors, but it has the right balance of hardware optimization and clean software, and the larger size allows it to stand out from the crowd.
Of course, if you need a small phone, the Zenfone 10 is still the best small phone you can get today. There is currently no other device with the same hardware quality as the Zenfone 10 in such a small size, and that alone makes it worth considering.
If you’re looking for something geared towards gaming, the ROG Phone 8 Pro offers excellent hardware supported by a whole host of gaming features. The phone isn’t that aggressive when it comes to design and that’s a smart move from ASUS as it makes the device much more appealing to a mainstream audience. Still, you don’t miss out on any gaming extras and it’s really fun to use.
