Benny Blanco pinches himself when it comes to his relationship with his girlfriend Selena Gomez.
On Wednesday the producer appeared on the Today show in which he promoted his cookbook, Open wide, and told hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager about his romance.
“I wake up every day, look in the mirror and ask myself, ‘How did this happen?’ But until someone finds out, ‘Weeee,'” he said.
Blanco, 36, revealed the trick to finding love – his cooking skills.
“Look at me, I only got to where I am now by cooking food,” he said. “Are you kidding me? This is the best first date in the world. You cook something to eat. How can someone not love you when you make them a huge steak with potatoes and salad.”
On Tuesday night, Gomez was there to support her boyfriend during the meeting Open wide Celebration. Gomez celebrated her husband’s latest achievement on Instagram.
“So proud of @itsbennyblanco – Open Wide is out now!!,” the 31-year-old singer wrote alongside pictures of her biting into the cake shaped like Blanco’s book and photos of her posing with the husband of the Hour.
Blanco took to the comments to respond to his love’s support.
“Life is better when I am Wu,” he wrote.
On Monday, Blanco shared his love of cooking for his girl with his TikTok followers.
“I woke up early this morning and thought, ‘I want to do something nice for my girlfriend,'” Blanco shared with his followers. “I thought, whenever I want to put a smile on her face or have sex, I’ll just make her a steak.”
Blanco walked fans through the process and shared snaps of himself preparing a delicious spread that included perfectly smoked steak, crispy potatoes and a Caesar salad with homemade croutons. “If you don’t make homemade croutons, you’re an idiot,” he joked in one of the clips.
After his plan to surprise her at work was foiled, Blanco left a note by her bed while she slept. Gomez later took to her Instagram Story to share the sweet news with her fans.
“I love you! Sleep well! I made you steak,” it said.
Blanco and Gomez confirmed their romance in December 2023 after months of speculation. The couple have been in love ever since Basketball games, Double date nights with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelceand of course the kitchen.
Last month, A source told ET that the Just murders in the building Star and “Eastside” hitmaker have taken their relationship “very seriously.”
“Selena trusts him more than any other previous romantic partner in her life,” the source said. “They treat each other very respectfully and their relationship develops positively.”
The duo, the source said, feel like they “bring out the best in each other and strive to be communicative, honest and mutually supportive.”
