Below Deck Recap: Ben Complicates Sunny Fling by Calling Camille Lamb

Ben Willoughby surprised Sunny Marquis – And Under deck Viewers – by ending their casual relationship to try and get back together Camille Lamb.

During the Monday, April 29, episode, Ben began to doubt whether he wanted to continue seeing Sunny. His feelings for Camille, who appeared in season 10 of, resurfaced Under deckdidn’t make Ben’s decision any easier.

“Being back on board the St. David is like taking a walk down memory lane,” Ben told the cameras. “It clicked with Camille straight away. We were like children in love. I’ve been really thinking about her lately.”

The boatswain said he still has hope for him and Camille, adding: “Maybe part of me thinks there could be something because we were great together. “See what girls did to me?”

However, in order to reconcile with Camille, Ben first had to break up with Sunny. He further complicated the situation by posting about Camille several times on his social media before sharing his doubts with Sunny.

Ben took part in an Instagram Q&A where he answered several fan questions about his personal life.

When asked where he stands with Camille, Ben replied: “A lot has happened since the end of this season. You’ll all find out in due time.” Another person asked what Ben’s favorite snacks were during Season 10 on St. David. He responded with a photo of Camille and wrote: “Her.”

Ben was also asked if his relationship with Camille was over. “I would not say that. Camille and I have this spark,” he noted.

It didn’t take long for Sunny to see the public posts herself. “Wait, what the fuck? What a little idiot,” she said before becoming emotional Paris field And Barbie Pascual.

Sunny’s friends asked her what Ben said about his relationship with Camille.

“It was last year. She cheated on him,” Sunny explained. “I know we only sleep together, but it’s just weird. And I’m supposed to act like nothing [is wrong] on deck because work and leisure are different. But it’s really hard at the moment.”

When Ben caught wind of Sunny’s feelings, he didn’t seem happy. “We’re not even dating. “What’s wrong, you damn girls?” he said. “I was trying to have a conversation with Paris and she asks, ‘Why are you doing this to my friend Sunny?’ I ask myself, ‘What kind of king now?'”

Ben told deckhand Kyle Stillie that he was planning to break up with Sunny.

“I just have to finish it, dude. I am unhappy. I’ve had connections with people before, but I just don’t think Sunny and I have that,” Ben admitted. “I think it’s better not to, buddy. Damn, I’ll never understand a lady’s mind.”

When Ben and Sunny crossed paths, she told him that his online comments had “surprised” her, adding: “I didn’t expect that.” Ben, meanwhile, was unapologetic about the pain he caused Sunny had inflicted throughout the season.

“It’s just that there’s always something there. I was just annoyed. I just need to finish this charter season well, so I think you know where we are,” he noted. “If we sleep together, we sleep together. If we don’t do it, we don’t do it. I don’t think we have any connection at all.”

Sunny repeated the conversation with Paris and Barbie, but surprised them both by blaming herself.

“I understand what he’s saying, that he can’t be himself. There’s always something wrong, I’m fucking toxic,” the lead deckhand said while getting emotional. “I’m working through shit right now. If there are so many problems at the beginning, what the hell do I do?”

Despite his breakup with Sunny, Ben quickly recovered and called Camille the next day.

“I’ve been thinking about my ex a lot lately,” he said in a confessional. “I like Sunny. She’s sweet and really fun to be with. But I don’t have that [a] Spark with Sunny. You can’t force anything, the spark has to be there. Like last year with Camille. This is the magic I’m looking for.”

Bravo viewers got to know Ben and Camille when they moved on to season 10 in 2022. Things got heated between the two, but Camille’s dismissal kept them in touch via text message. Ben and Camille reunited on screen later that season and appeared to be going strong until he confirmed their split.

On Tuesday’s episode, fans got a glimpse into Ben and Camille’s awkward dynamic during a FaceTime call. Camille seemed surprised by Ben’s call before briefly filling him in on her life in Florida. Meanwhile, Ben said he wanted to see Camille once his job was finished.

“I’d like to see you just to say hello,” he said, to which she replied, “Oh, I don’t know. I mean, I just came to town two months ago.”

After their brief conversation ended, Ben described himself as a “f***ing loser” and added: “I feel kind of stupid because it’s over.” It’s a hard pill to swallow. I swallow it again for the second time. You have to learn it from the first time. Now I know.”
