BAN vs IRE: Tamim Iqbal Becomes the First Player in Bangladesh History to Complete 15,000 International Runs

Tamim Iqbal, the legendary Bangladesh cricketer, has once again written his name in the history books with a remarkable performance. On Monday, he became the first Bangladeshi batsman to reach the milestone of 15,000 international runs. This is a truly remarkable achievement considering the rich history of cricket in Bangladesh and the host of talented cricketers who have represented the country over the years.

Tamim Iqbal, undoubtedly one of the best batsmen to ever play for Bangladesh, was just 14 runs short of reaching this milestone before the start of the game. To the delight of his fans and teammates, he reached the milestone with a double on the third ball of the ninth over. However, on the same throw he got a fright when he threw the ball high into the air, but it landed safely in “no man’s land”.

Tamim is the only Bangladesh batsman to score a century in T20Is and he also tops the list of centuries and runs in ODIs. In fact, he has made a total of 15 centuries in ODIs alone, a testament to his skill and consistency in the format.

However, it is important to note that Tamim Iqbal did not reach the 15,000-run milestone alone for Bangladesh. He also played four matches for the World XI team, scoring a total of 57 runs.
