This could be the new Avatr 15 (One-Five), which is expected to come onto the market in the second half of 2024

Avatr is ready to introduce a new model, expanding its product range alongside the existing 11 SUV and 12 Gran Coupe flagships. The Chinese premium electric vehicle maker, backed by Changan, Huawei and CATL, showed us camouflaged prototypes of a new electrified SUV rumored to be called Avatr 15 (one-five).
The teaser reveals the new Avatr’s high seating position, which adopts familiar styling cues. The split headlights look like an evolution of those on the Avart 11, while the slim taillights resemble the slimmer Avatr 12. In the official photos we see a prototype with mirror-replacing cameras and another with conventional mirrors.

The camouflage film prevents us from seeing whether the SUV will be modeled on the Avatr 12 without a rear window. It’s also unclear whether the new model will adopt its stablemate’s hood-mounted display as a form of communication to other road users when the vehicle is parked.
One of the prototypes is equipped with an extendable awning, a roof rack and a trailer hitch, conveying its adventurous character in combination with the generous ground clearance. The camouflage film reveals a few additional information, such as the size of the alloy wheels (22 inches) and the location of the photo shoot (Mongolia).

According to Chinese media, the Avatr 15 will be launched in the second quarter of 2024 as a competitor to the Tesla Model Y. Therefore, it is expected to be smaller than the 4,880 mm (192.1 in) long Avatr 11 and the 5,020 mm (197.6 in) long Avatr 12.
In addition to the SUV pictured, Avatr is also working on another model that could adopt a flatter body aimed at the Tesla Model 3. As for powertrain options, it has been reported that Avatr will offer EREV (range-extender) variants. The entire range will be offered alongside the existing BEVs to boost sales.
We previously reported that Avatr is planning to enter other markets outside of China. Expansion will begin later this year in Southeast Asian countries, including Thailand, followed by the United Arab Emirates. Avatr will then land in Europe around 2026-2027, but there’s a chance they could reach North America at some point. Note that the Avatr design center is located in Munich, which reflects the brand’s global ambitions.
