Atlanta Valet Steals Dodge Challenger and Crashes After Eating Donuts

  • A valet at an Atlanta hotel allegedly stole a Dodge Challenger from a customer.
  • The muscle car was taken for a joyride that ended in an accident and thousands of dollars in damages.
  • The same company has also been accused of other cases of stolen vehicles, including a Rolls-Royce.

If you’re staying in a hotel, the last thing you want to hear is that your car was damaged by the same people tasked with taking care of it. But that’s exactly what reportedly happened to a Dodge Challenger owner in Atlanta, who claims a valet stole and crashed his muscle car after he was doing donuts on public streets.

In 2022, Corwin Tuggles was in a hotel room after moving from New York to downtown Atlanta. He had entrusted his Dodge Challenger to the hotel staff. However, his sleep was abruptly interrupted by multiple calls from management urging him to come to the front desk in the middle of the night.

As WSB-TV Atlanta reports, Tuggles was informed that one of the hotel employees had stolen his car. The “fairly new” Challenger was spotted 40 miles (64 km) away after it was involved in an accident. The owner claims items were missing from the interior and the engine wouldn’t start. He later discovered that the valet had been doing donuts on Lithonia Industrial Boulevard before the accident with the stolen Dodge.

The Challenger had suffered engine failure, requiring thousands of dollars worth of repairs. The owner remarked: “This could have ruined me, having to spend so much money at once. “I don’t think this is a trustworthy company.” As expected, Tuggles took the Laz Parking company to court and demanded a refund. The company agreed to pay $20,000 in damages, but the dissatisfied customer received a canceled check.

After the reporter contacted, Laz Parking responded that security had been enhanced at their Atlanta locations due to “the recent increase in car thefts in the area.” They also claim that their client “recovered in 2023.” However, Tuggles claims he did not have access to the settlement money after the bounced check incident.

According to WSB-TV Atlanta, this is not the first case of a vehicle being stolen from company property. In the fall of 2023, another customer reported that his Rolls Royce was missing, blaming both the hotel and Laz Parking for negligence.
