Annie Potts has built a decades-long career on the television screen, but even she was shocked when Young Sheldon was canceled after seven seasons.
Potts, 71, who appeared in 134 of the series’ 136 episodes, said diversity Given its success, she was “completely unprepared” for the end of the show.
“I was shocked. I mean, the No. 1 show on network television, No. 1 on Netflix,” she said. “I think we’re everything people see on TikTok, other than a few pasta recipes. It came “It just seems like a stupid business move.”
Potts added that she wasn’t the only one who didn’t see the end coming.
“Forgive me, but I don’t know. When a show starts lagging or lagging or lacking stories or whatever, you kind of see it coming. “It totally overwhelmed us,” she claimed.

With the series soon in the rearview mirror, Potts looked back on a show that had played a significant role in her career.
“I mean, it was half of Iain’s life and it was a tenth of mine, but at 70 it feels significant,” she said. “And, you know, it’s a little village we have, and we all took care of each other and raised each other. There will be a painful hole in my life. No question. It will be easier. Grief does, loss does.”
Armitage, 15, echoed this sentiment, saying: “It’s difficult in a really strange way too, and I can only really see it when I step back and try to take a global view of what is difficult .” I mean, I won’t see Annie Potts every day. This is a real loss for me. More than anyone else.”
