It’s raining Mercedes-Benz SUVs in Bollywood. The latest Bollywood star to buy a brand new Mercedes-Benz SUV is actress Sai Tamhankar. On the occasion of Gudi Padwa, the actress bought a brand new Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV. Gudi Padwa is a spring festival that marks the beginning of the lunisolar new year for Marathi and Konkani Hindus.

Sai Tamhankar posted a video on Instagram of herself taking delivery of her new SUV. The actress wrote: “Don’t let anyone tell you what you can and can’t do. Dream it, achieve it, live it! At the beginning of the new year, let’s set new goals and achieve them together. पाडव्याच्या खूप खूप शुभेच्छा.”
The video actually shows the entire delivery process. The actress is seen with her friends and family on the way to the Mercedes-Benz dealer. After all the formalities are completed, the car is unveiled. The actress is given the keys to her new car and a few baskets.
Sai Tamhankar sits in the car and checks everything. She is so excited that she even kisses the steering wheel of the SUV. Religious rituals are also carried out as usual and finally, after all the formalities are completed, she leaves in the car. The excitement of buying a new SUV is clearly visible on Sai’s face.
The car seen here in the video is the Mercedes-Benz GLE facelift, which was launched in November last year. The price of a brand new GLE starts at Rs 96.40 lakh ex-showroom and goes up to Rs 1.15 crore ex-showroom. The GLE received an update this year, and most of it is cosmetic.
The exterior has been slightly tweaked to make it look much more premium than before. The front grille, bumper, LED daytime running lights, headlights and taillights have all been revised. In addition to the exterior, the SUV also has a revised interior. The SUV features an updated cabin inspired by the Maybach GLS luxury SUV.
The SUV has features such as a multifunction steering wheel with capacitive touch controls, an updated infotainment screen with the latest MBUX system, reclining seats with sliding function, electrically operated sun blinds, fast-charging USB-C ports and four-zone automatic climate control, Burmester Surround sound system, 360-degree cameras, active parking assistant as well as a gesture-controlled, electric tailgate, blind spot assistant and 9 airbags.
The Mercedes-Benz GLE is available with both petrol and diesel engines. The entry-level variant of the 300d is powered by a 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine that produces 265 hp and 550 Nm of peak torque.
The GLE 450 features a 3.0-liter petrol engine that produces 375 hp and 500 Nm of maximum torque. The top diesel variant 450d features a 3.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 362 hp and 750 Nm of maximum torque.
All three engines feature a 48V mild hybrid system that provides an additional boost of 20 hp and a maximum torque of 200 Nm. The SUV is equipped with an automatic transmission as standard. Power is transmitted to all four wheels using Mercedes’ 4MATIC technology. We are not sure which option Sai Tamhankar actually chose.
