A Reimagined Willy’s Chocolate Experience is Coming to America

A replica of “Willy’s chocolate experience,“The AI-generated Willy Wonka fiasco in Glasgow, which left children crying and the police had to be called, appears to be selling tickets to its American debut. For $44, attendees will reportedly be offered “two free jelly beans” and the chance to meet the Mother Oompa Loompa, Kristy Paterson, from the original event.

“YES, THIS IS A REAL EVENT,” is what the event says listing, noting that the experience will take place in a nondescript warehouse. “Prepare to immerse yourself in a realm of pure fantasy as the highly acclaimed Willy’s Chocolate Experience LA makes its debut in the United States.”

The organizer says: “There are rumors that renowned comedians are vying to host a Q&A session following the LA experience, although it appears they started the rumors themselves. Users on X claim the actor listed in the Eventbrite list Timothée Chalemet as “maybe maybe” to express interest in participating. The guard The Eventbrite post also reportedly listed Zach Galifianakis and Nathan Fielder as potential attendees, although they have since been removed.

Gizmodo was unable to confirm the person behind this event, but it does not appear to be Billy Coull, the organizer of the original Glasgow event and head of the Illuminati House. This LA event is hosted by House of Illuminati LA on Eventbrite. Coull’s original website for “House of Illuminati” was removed and Coull reportedly said his life was “ruined” from the first Willy’s Chocolate Experience. House of Illuminati wrote this on Facebook at the time 850 tickets for the event in Glasgow would be refunded.

“I am truly sorry from the bottom of my heart for this mess,” House of Illuminati wrote on the website Original event list.

The upcoming Eventbrite also lists live comedy and musical performances, followed by a transition to “Willy’s Rave” around 9 p.m., scheduled until 4 a.m. the next day. While the first event was clearly aimed at children, this Willy Wonka-themed show does not appear to be child-friendly. All proceeds will reportedly be donated to charity.

House of Illuminati LA did not immediately respond to Gizmodo’s request for comment.

Gizmodo I received a copy of the strange, AI-generated script of the original Glasgow event. The live experience saw the existing characters’ names changed slightly to Willy McDuff and Wonkidoodles 1 and 2. The script also featured a completely hallucinated new character who never appeared in the Willy Wonka films: The unknown, an evil rival to the chocolate maker who lived within the walls of the factory. House of Illuminati claims that any resemblance to existing characters is “coincidental.”
