The video was shared by a user on Reddit. In this video we see a blue private bus parked on the side of the road with a bicycle crashing into the back. According to the video, the incident took place in Ernakulam district of Kerala. We have no CCTV footage of the crash; However, looking at the condition of the motorcycle and the bus, it is quite clear that the KTM Duke was driven at above-average speeds.
We don’t know how the accident happened, but looking at the video, we can assume that the KTM bike crashed into the back of a bus that was slowing down or stopped at a bus stop. The KTM rider and a pillion passenger may not have been able to control the motorcycle in time, causing it to crash into the rear overhang of the bus.
The impact was so violent that the metal or fiberglass panels on the bus’s body panels tore apart and the KTM simply drove under the bus. According to the video, both the rider and passenger were wearing riding helmets and were able to escape without major injuries. The front of the bike is completely damaged. The front fairing, headlights and handlebars all look damaged.
Both rider and passenger were lucky to escape without any major injuries. The bodies of many buses in Kerala are made of sheet metal and can easily cause injuries in the event of a collision.
This video is once again a good example of why driving recklessly around the city is a bad idea. The biker probably tried to overtake other vehicles from the left without noticing the bus in front. The cyclist probably didn’t have time to stop or slow down when he spotted the bus in front of him.
