Kia has announced that the redesigned K5 will arrive in dealers in the second quarter with a base price of $26,990. That’s an increase of $1,400 since the 2024 model started at $25,590.

While the exterior design is quite advanced, buyers can expect an updated interior with a new 12.3-inch infotainment system. The latter supports over-the-air updates as well as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The car was also equipped with new switchgear, an updated dashboard and a revised center console. The latter houses larger cup holders and an optional wireless smartphone charger.

In terms of equipment, the entry-level model K5 LXS has LED lighting units and 16-inch alloy wheels. There is also a relatively simple interior with fabric seats, a polyurethane steering wheel and painted accents. Other highlights include dual-zone automatic climate control and an audio system with six speakers.

Although the LXS is affordable, it is equipped with a variety of driver assistance systems, including Collision Avoidance Assist and Intelligent Cruise Control with Stop and Go. In addition, there are, among other things, the blind spot assistant, the lane keeping assistant, the high beam assistant and the exit assistant.

The $27,990 K5 GT-Line has a sportier look with black accents and larger 18-inch alloy wheels. The improvements continue inside with heated leatherette front seats that have eight-way power adjustment on the driver’s side.

Customers will also find a leather steering wheel, a wireless smartphone charger and satin chrome accents. Last but not least, the model is equipped with Highway Driving Assist and navigation-based Smart Cruise Control.

The K5 EX starts at $34,490 and is the luxury variant. Therefore, it is equipped with imitation wood trim and leatherette front seats that are heated, ventilated and electrically adjustable on both sides.

The upgrades don’t end there, as the top model features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof and a heated steering wheel. Buyers will also find a 12-speaker Bose audio system, as well as a surround view monitor and a blind view monitor.

All of the above trim levels are powered by a new 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 191 hp (142 kW / 194 hp) and 181 lb-ft (245 Nm) of torque. It is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission, which can optionally be coupled with all-wheel drive on the GT-Line.

That brings us to the $33,090 K5 GT, which features sportier bumpers, green brake calipers and a sports exhaust system. The car is also equipped with a sport-tuned suspension, a unique steering system and 19-inch alloy wheels. The highlights are rounded off by shift paddles mounted on the steering wheel and sports seats made of black synthetic leather with green piping.

The most notable feature is a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with 290 hp (216 kW / 294 hp) and 421 Nm of torque. It is coupled to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends power exclusively to the front wheels.
