2024 Jaecoo J7 Open for Booking in Malaysia – 1.6T; FWD Estimated from RM150,000, AWD RM160,000; Third Quarter Deliveries – Paultan.org

After previewing in January this year, the Jaecoo J7 is now open for booking. Malaysia will be the first Southeast Asian country to welcome the SUV. Delivery is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2024.

Currently, the company is only providing estimated prices for the two available variants of the J7. The base front-wheel drive (2WD) option is priced at RM150,000, while the all-wheel drive (AWD) option costs RM10,000 more at RM160,000. Buyers can choose between four colors: Moonlight Silver, Carbon Crystal Black, Khaki White and Model Green.

Both variants feature a 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine with 197 hp (194 hp or 145 kW) and 290 Nm of torque, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. In terms of dimensions, the J7 is 4,500 mm long, 1,865 mm wide, 1,680 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,672 mm. This makes it about the size of a Toyota Corolla Cross, but also smaller than the Mazda CX-5.

Available features on the J7 include automatic LED headlights, LED daytime running lights and taillights, front and rear fog lights, rain-sensing wipers, keyless start and engine start, remote engine start, a power liftgate, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14, 8-inch touchscreen head unit (with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), dual-zone automatic climate control, power front seats (with memory, heating and ventilation functions), a Sony sound system, ambient lighting and a panoramic sunroof.

The 21 ADAS features listed include automatic emergency braking (AEB), forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane departure prevention, lane keeping assist, intelligent avoidance system, corner speed assist, vehicle departure notification, a surround view monitor, door opening warning and parking assist.
