Although the current version of the Ford Bronco has only been around since 2021, its controversial relationship with the Jeep Wrangler is one of the fiercest rivalries in the automotive world. These are the only two off-road SUVs of their kind. They are available as 2-door or 4-door models with removable doors and top, they have all-wheel drive as standard and you can also get both models with a manual transmission.
2024 Ford Bronco
The Ford Bronco was an off-road enthusiast’s dream come true when it was reborn in 2021. Finally there was a worthy rival to the dominant Jeep Wrangler and it has been impressing us ever since. In addition to its outstanding capabilities and drool-worthy aesthetics, the Bronco earns our best-in-class resale value award. Pricing starts at $41,525, including destination charge.
Ford Bronco highlights
GOAT modes: Every Ford Bronco is equipped with six or seven GOAT (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) modes. We’ll forgive the vague acronym because it’s fun to say. These finely tuned modes make it easier to drive the Bronco on any terrain, including snow, sand, mud and rocks.
Nine decorations: Both SUVs offer a lot of variety in their respective model lines, but the Bronco offers more. Its extensive range of nine trim levels includes the comfortable Outer Banks, the powerful Badlands, the wild Wildtrak, multiple Heritage Editions and of course…
Birds of prey: Both the Wrangler and Bronco have performance features that are borderline ridiculous, but we have a soft spot for the Ford Bronco Raptor. It’s a faithful translation of the Raptor moniker with an exciting turbo V6 engine, HOSS 4.0 suspension system, 37-inch tires and monster truck aesthetics.

2024 Jeep Wrangler
The Jeep Wrangler is an SUV that needs no introduction, but we’ll give it a try anyway. Since its debut in 1986 as the successor to the Jeep CJ, the Wrangler has been the gold standard of off-road SUVs and its military-inspired appearance is instantly recognizable from a mile away. There hasn’t been a worthy competitor in a long time, so competition from the Bronco has forced this legendary Jeep to get even better. Pricing starts at $33,890, including destination charge.
Jeep Wrangler highlights
Other engine options: The Jeep Wrangler has four powertrain options: a V6, a turbo 4-cylinder, a turbocharged plug-in hybrid, and a stunning Hemi V8. There is neither a hybrid drive nor a V8 in the Ford Bronco.
Lower starting price: The Ford Bronco has ditched its old “Bronco” trim and is making the Big Bend the new base model. The tried-and-true Wrangler Sport is still here, offering off-road adventure at an affordable price, making the Jeep’s starting price significantly lower than the Ford’s.
Larger screen: When you get an outstanding off-roader, you don’t have to settle for old technology. The Uconnect 5 system in the Wrangler features a 12.3-inch anti-glare screen with trail maps and adventure guides to help you find the best places to go off-road and get all the information you need.

similarities
The Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler are two interpretations of the same idea: a street-legal SUV that can go almost anywhere. Both are available as 2-door or 4-door models, both have manual transmissions, and all-wheel drive is standard on both. Their resale value is also almost as impressive as their capabilities.
Diploma
Both SUVs are so good and comparable that it comes down to which team is better and whose side you want to side with. If you want people to put rubber duckies on your vehicle, you must choose the Jeep Wrangler. If you want to say you have GOAT modes, the Ford Bronco is for you.
The Wrangler offers the benefits of a plug-in hybrid option and a lower starting price. However, if your budget is over $40,000 and a hybrid isn’t important to you, this race is a dead heat.
