Varun Dhawan thanks Nach Punjaabban singer Abrar Ul Haq for the ‘great’ song, says ‘they bought the rights’

Since JugJugg Jeeyo’s trailer went online, the film’s now popular track ‘Nach Punjaabban’ has been somewhat controversial. De original singer of the song Abrar Ul Haq accused Dharma Productions of stealing the number and claimed he had not sold the rights. Now, actor Varun Dhawan, in a recent interview, said that the music company T-Series bought the rights to the song. Varun also thanked the Pakistani creator for his music.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Varun said: “I want to tell Abrar that he sang the song so well, the original. It’s great, great and we love it. Our music business, they bought the rights and now our song does it that way OK, so thank you. “

Shortly after the release of the song, Abrar said on Twitter: “I did not sell my song Nach Punjaban to an Indian film and reserve the right to go to court to claim damages. Producers like @karanjohar should not use copied songs. This is my 6th song that is being copied, that will not be allowed at all. @DharmaMovies @karanjohar. “

Later, T-Series claimed that they had in fact purchased the rights and issued a statement saying: “All credits due will be recorded on all platforms when songs are released. As represented by Moviebox Records Label, the aforementioned copyrights of the song are confirmed only at Moviebox only with all valid documents.

In a video shared on Twitter, Abrar claimed that the song “belongs to me and I will get it back, if God wills, and I will come to court.” He added that Karan Johar and T-Series had stolen his song and just giving credit is not enough because he did not give anyone the right to use the track.

Nach Punjaabban has been in trend on social media platforms for weeks and many of Bollywood have created roles that carry out the hook step of the track.

JugJuggJeeyo, directed by Raj Mehta is set to release on June 24th. The film also stars Anil Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Neetu Kapoor, Maniesh Paul and Prajakta Koli, among others.
