The MG Comet may not be every celebrity’s first choice. However, Malayalam film actress Anunaya Anoop, better known by her stage name Meenakshi Anoop, recently bought this tiny electric vehicle. The 18-year-old actress picked up her new MG Comet in Kerala. Popular Bollywood actor and restaurateur Sunil Shetty also recently bought an MG Comet.
Meenakshi Anoop’s MG Comet EV
The young Malayalam film actress has received her new MG Comet in yellow. The actress chose the executive variant of the Comet EV. This variant comes with halogen headlights, halogen taillights, illuminated MG logo and 12-inch steel wheels with hubcaps.
Additionally, the variant chosen by Meenakshi comes with LED indicators on ORVMs, Starlight Black interior design, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors. It is also equipped with front and rear seat belt reminder system, manual parking brake, automatic door lock function with speed detection, automatic door unlock function with impact detection and TPMS.
Additionally, the MG Comet Executive variant is equipped with an LED rear fog lamp, a 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster, remote central locking, crawl mode, keyless entry and manual air conditioning. Finally, it also features electrically adjustable ORVMs, dual speakers and steering wheel-mounted controls.
MG Comet EV: Powertrain
The MG Comet EV is offered with a 17.3 kWh battery pack. Charging this battery from 0 to 100% takes around 7 hours from a standard household socket, and MG includes a 3.3kW charger with the car.
In terms of engine, the car has an electric motor that produces a maximum power of 42 hp and a maximum torque of 110 Nm. According to this company, the total range of this electric vehicle is 230 km.

As mentioned above, popular Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty also bought an MG Comet EV some time back. He bought the top version in starry black. The actor has mentioned that he is having a lot of fun driving it.
Apart from Sunil Shetty, popular actor Rohit Roy also bought a brand new Comet EV. The actor shared the picture of his car with the caption highlighting why he bought this small electric vehicle. He explained that the recent strikes by truck drivers had brought the entire country to a standstill due to a lack of gasoline supplies.
Because of this situation, he decided to buy an electric vehicle. The actor also mentioned in his post that the car is extremely easy to operate. He said, “You get in the driver’s seat and you’re good to go!!!” Adding to his post, the actor revealed that he hasn’t recovered since the delivery.
He also thanked MG Motor for the quick delivery of his Comet EV. The actor has opted for the premium plush variant of this all-electric hatchback in Candy White color.
The MG Comet EV is a good seller and mainly competes with the Tata Tiago.EV. The Comet’s small footprint makes it an excellent city car. Almost everyone who buys the Comet EV does so as a second car and uses it primarily for city commuting.
