We all love the color black on our cars, and car manufacturers have recognized that too. They introduced special editions of their existing models in shades of black. Most of these cars are mechanically the same; It’s just a cosmetic update to attract more buyers. Tata was probably the first manufacturer to do this and many others followed later. Here we have a list of 12 Black Edition SUVs currently available for sale in the Indian market.
Tata
Nexon and Nexon EV
The Indian manufacturer’s SUV, which is under 4 meters long, is very popular with buyers. It is the only SUV in the segment that is offered in petrol, diesel and electric versions. Both the ICE and EV versions of the Nexon received an update last year, and we drove the SUV too. Shortly after the launch, Tata launched the Dark Edition versions of the Nexon and Nexon EV SUVs. The exterior is completely blacked out and all chrome elements have been replaced with glossy black trim.
Harrier
The Harrier also received an update last year. Tata offers the Harrier in a black color that the manufacturer calls Dark Edition. Just like the Nexon, all of the chrome elements on the Harrier are blackened. Even the interior gets a dark treatment that fits the overall theme. The SUV is only available with a 2.0-liter diesel engine.

The Safari Dark Edition also features an all-black interior with a Dark Edition badge on the fenders, a black headliner, upholstery and door pads.
MG
Gloster
MG’s flagship SUV in the Indian market, Gloster, is available in all-black. MG calls it the Blackstorm Edition. We see an all-black exterior with red accents in places like the front skid plate, ORVMs and red brake calipers. Mechanically, the SUV remains the same. The SUV is powered by a 2.0-liter diesel engine.
Astor
MG’s entry-level SUV was the first car in the segment to be equipped with Level 1 ADAS features. MG also launched a Blackstorm edition of the Astor. The SUV gets an all-black paint job with red accents and a similar theme can be seen in the interior too. Astor is only available with two petrol engines.

The Hector Blackstorm was launched just a few days ago. The SUV carries the brand’s all-black theme, which is nicely punctuated by red accents in some places. The interior upholstery is all black and we see red stitching and red ambient lights in the SUV. The SUV is available with both petrol and diesel engines.

Compass night eagle
Jeep recently launched the limited edition Night Eagle version of the Compass. Jeep gives the SUV a subtle black color both outside and inside. However, the Night Eagle Edition is slightly different from others in this segment. This limited edition variant is not only offered in black, but also in red and white. The Night Eagle Edition is only available with the diesel variant, which uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine.
Nissan
Magnite – new edition
The Kuro Edition was Nissan’s take on the black hue. They launched the Kuro Edition Magnite in an all-black colorway. Even the alloy wheels are blacked out and the brake calipers are painted red for a sporty touch. Just like the exterior, the interior of this SUV has also been blacked out. The Magnite Kuro is offered with both 1.0-litre NA engines and 1.0-litre turbo petrol engines.
Renault
Kiger – Urban Night Edition
The Renault Urban Night Edition features a blacked-out exterior, but the chrome trim on the front grille remains. The Kiger Urban Night Edition is priced between Rs 8.95 and 11.15 lakh. The Urban Night Edition is available with both petrol engines. The SUV offers other features like auto-dimming IRVMs and so on.
Hyundai
Venue Knight Edition
Hyundai launched the Knight Edition variant of the Venue last year. It features an all-black exterior with brass-colored inserts on the front and rear bumper, a dark chrome front grille, blacked-out alloy wheels with red brake calipers, black roof rails with brass-colored inserts and so on. Just like the Jeep, Hyundai offers our monotone and two-tone options with the Knight Edition: Abyss Black, Atlas White, Titan Grey, Fiery Red and Fiery Red with Abyss Black.
