1-year-old Mahindra Scorpio N Parked in Front of House Catches Fire: Live Video

Lately, we have seen many reports of issues faced by customers with Mahindra cars. While some of these issues are resolved in a timely manner, there are others that did not end well. In some cases, the customer’s vehicle caught fire for unknown reasons. Here we have another incident from Arunachal Pradesh. A year-old Mahindra Scorpio N 4×4 SUV caught fire minutes after the customer parked it outside his house.

The video was shared by Prateek Singh on his YouTube channel. In this video, the customer shared information about the fire with the vlogger. The customer bought the top version Z8 L 4×4 of the Scorpio N a year ago. The owner, Mr. Pankaj, has driven the car only 17,000 km as he stays away from the station for work.

The customer told the vlogger that he had had several problems with the vehicle since purchasing it. First he had problems with the sunroof. After many delays, this issue has been resolved. Over the past year, the SUV has visited the authorized service center five to six times to solve one or another problem.

A month before this fire incident, the SUV was brought to the service center as the car’s battery had a problem. The service center replaced the battery and he hasn’t had any problems since. On the day the SUV caught fire, we can see the owner driving the SUV into the parking lot in front of his house.

He parked the car and went inside. A few minutes after the car was parked, we saw smoke coming from under the hood. The smoke soon became too thick and some of the neighbors who noticed the smoke called the owner. When the owner arrived, the car had already caught fire. Somehow they managed to put out the fire, but the damage was already done.

Mahindra Scorpio N Fire

The customer mentioned that the air conditioning on his year-old Mahindra Scorpio N stopped working that day and he suspects it has something to do with the fire. The front of the car was completely damaged and it is no longer functional. The engine compartment was completely burned down, including the cables and several pipes.

After the fire incident, the owner called the service center and the dealer’s employees came to inspect. They visited several times and even held video conferences with senior officials to gain more clarity on the issue. You have now taken the car to the service center for a detailed inspection. The owner claims that the car had a manufacturing defect and hence he faced several issues with the vehicle.

This car’s insurance had expired a few months ago and the customer had forgotten to renew it. This means he is not eligible to insure his vehicle for this fire incident. The customer states that he has not installed any aftermarket electrical parts in his car that would affect the performance or cause the car to malfunction. All he had on his car were some chrome elements that he had the dealer install himself.

We sincerely hope that the detailed inspection will reveal the actual cause of the car fire and solve the customer’s problem. This is not the first time that a Mahindra vehicle has caught fire in this manner. In March, we came across a case where a Mahindra Thar RWD that was just a few months old caught fire. Similarly, last year we witnessed an unfortunate incident where a Tata Safari parked in a garage in Punjab caught fire.
