Wood Do you believe it? This 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer has less than 28,000 miles

  • This 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer has just 27,417 miles on the clock and is in excellent condition overall.
  • Under the skin is a massive 5.9 liter V8 naturally aspirated engine with an extremely powerful 140 hp.
  • The interior shows minimal wear and the paint and trim appear to be original, however an accident has been reported.

The original Jeep Grand Wagoneer is one of America’s most iconic and popular SUVs, and finding a well-maintained, low-mileage vehicle is like finding a needle in a haystack. We just found this needle.

This 1988 Grand Wagoneer is being auctioned at Hemmings. While the reserve price is not disclosed, anyone desperate enough to buy it will likely be willing to pay a hefty sum. So what makes this Grand Wagoneer more desirable than most?

Review: The new Jeep Grand Wagoneer is a private jet for the road

For starters, the SUV has only traveled 27,417 miles (44,123 km) since it began production, a remarkably low number for a 36-year-old Jeep. Additionally, the Grand Wagoneer remained with its original owner until 2022. A Carfax report said the front right side was damaged but has since been repaired.

The listing notes that the paint and faux wood trim are original and that the glass and weatherstripping are in “very good condition.” The lights all work and the interior is in excellent condition, although it does seem quite dated. Key interior features include the still working original cassette radio, air conditioning, power windows, heater and power locks.

The most remarkable thing about the interior is that the brown leather that adorns the seats, door panels and dashboard looks immaculate and has no cracks.

The Jeep is powered by the original 5.9-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine with 140 hp and 280 lb-ft (380 Nm) of torque. This engine is paired with a TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission connected to a transfer case that sends power through the Dana 44 front and rear axles.

Also recently installed Hankook tires with less than 200 miles (~320 km) on them. It could be the perfect option for someone who wants a classic SUV without having to worry about a high mileage vehicle or one that has been poorly treated.

It is now available for sale through Hemmings. For more details or to register to bid, you can visit the listing Here.
