Will.i.am, Warren Littlefield and “Clarkson’s Farm” Producer Andy Wilman at the Edinburgh TV Festival

Wilhelm, The Handmaid’s Tale Producer Warren Littlefield and Clarkson’s Farm EP Andy Wilman will speak at this year’s Edinburgh TV Festival.

Grammy-winning music artist and The voice Coach Will.i.am will be a keynote speaker in a new Frontiers section that brings together the traditional broadcast sector with leaders from other sectors such as podcasting, technology and digital.

He will be in conversation with Dr Alex Connock, television producer, Oxford University lecturer and AI expert. Will.i.am is founder and CEO of FYI, a Web 3.0 AI platform that aims to leverage technology for creative production. The pair will discuss the future of creativity and what role AI will play in content creation, distribution and engagement.

Littlefield, the former network chief who oversaw the creation of NBC’s “Must See TV” era, will talk about his career on both sides of the commissioning line. After overseeing the development of shows such as Friends, His field, IS And Bottom uphe became an indie producer on shows like The Handmaid’s Tale, Fargo And DopeSickand is filming the upcoming Hulu drama about Amanda Knox, with Knox and Monica Lewinsky serving as co-producers.

Littlefield will talk about how his career has reflected many changes in the industry, the current state of drama scripts, relationships with talent and where the next big shows will come from.

Wilmna, executive producer of The big tour And Clarkson’s Farmwill speak with Nutopia CEO Jane Root, who gave the green light to the relaunch of Top equipment as controller of BBC Two in the early 2000s. With The big tour Finally, Jeremy Clarkson’s right-hand man will talk about creativity, recruiting talent and the secrets of success.

These are the first announcements for this year’s festival, the first since Rowan Woods took over as Creative Director.

“It is such an exciting moment for me to be able to unveil our first session announcements for the 2024 festival,” said Woods. “They point to three of our key priorities this year: expanding our international programme, embracing the increasingly porous boundaries between television and other sectors and the creative opportunities this presents, and celebrating the success and impact of British talent and programming. We have lots more news to announce in the coming weeks and look forward to bringing the industry together in Edinburgh in August to reflect on a challenging year and find a way forward.”

This year’s festival will take place from Tuesday, August 20th to Friday, August 23rd.
