“It was very clear in the documentary that Dan had a very big ego,” she said Marie Claire in an interview published on Wednesday, May 15. “Sometimes this ego clouded his better judgment and influenced the way he treated people, and there were times when I felt like I was being treated unfairly.”

Quiet on set detailed Schneider’s tenure at Nickelodeon and his alleged inappropriate behavior. There were also allegations of sexual abuse, particularly against former dialogue trainers Brian Peck. The justices made it clear that their abuse was “never anything sexual,” but that certain moments were “in poor taste.”

However, she added that the two were not in contact. They have seen each other several times virtually and in person Zoey 101 See you again, but apart from the occasional birthday text, the two don’t speak to each other.

Justice admits her feelings toward Schneider are complicated.

“I don’t condone any of his behavior,” she said. “Ultimately, my relationship with Dan is very complex: I met him when I was 12 years old and he is the person who gave me this big break. He completely changed my life. Most likely I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for him and if he saw something in me. I will always be grateful for that. After watching his apology, I think he realizes he did a lot of things wrong and I think if he could go back in a time machine he would do a lot of things differently.”

Schneider admitted this and said of his behavior, “I wish I could go back and change that.”

“I can tell you why it hurts so much for me,” Schneider said. “I still remember my early experiences clearly [and] my first experiences in the entertainment business. I was green, I was scared, I was excited. It meant a lot to me that I got these opportunities and I went in and was lucky because they were great. And the fact that I didn’t pay that forward to every employee that came through my door hurts my heart because I should have.”
