Toyota Dealer Offers $5,000 off ‘used’ Land Cruiser After Price Hiked to $125,000 | Carscoops

We’ve seen Land Cruiser serves before, but these two are the best so far

Toyota dealer offers $5,000 discount on used Land Cruisers after raising price to $125,000

  • Exclusive Auto Wholesale is asking $119,997 for a “used” Toyota Land Cruiser.
  • That’s a whopping $40,000 more than the MSRP when new.
  • This is also more than other price-hungry dealers charge for truly new devices.

The new Toyota Land Cruiser is an incredibly capable vehicle. It feels well-built, has a very interesting powertrain and a classically robust design. When Toyota first announced pricing, it was also expected to be tens of thousands cheaper than the previous generation. If Exclusive Auto Wholesale has anything to say about it, that won’t be the case. Oh, and they hope customers will pay $40,000 more than the MSRP ($119,997) for a “used” vehicle.

Review: The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser is the 4-Runner for adults

This is far from the first time we’ve seen price markups in general or on the Land Cruiser itself. In those cases, however, these were new vehicles. Even then, dealers were asking $107,169, or about $30,000 over list price. Another dealer added $21,000 on top of MSRP.

For some reason, EAW in Pelham, Alabama, seems to believe that its two “used” examples deserve an even higher price.

“Here at EAW, our goal is to provide you with an unforgettable car buying experience… We strive to create lifelong relationships from each and every car purchase… We’re simply a group of people who are passionate about buying and selling cars. We’re lucky enough to be able to do it for a living and have fun playing with some great toys along the way,” the dealership says on its website.

Neither of these Land Cruisers seems particularly special. One of them has 297 miles on it, is painted Brown Sugar Metallic and has a black interior. The other is a Smoky Blue LC with just 38 miles on it. Both are First Edition models, which come with a small premium, but Toyota has already factored that into the MSRPs of these SUVs of $79,619 and $79,720.

Interestingly, these vehicles appear to be completely free of the silly scrap fees we often see. Perhaps EAW deserves some credit for that. At the same time, the company probably loses some of that credit for putting a markup on them in the first place, and even more so for claiming to “devalue” them from an “original price” of $124,997.

Toyota will be building a lot of these vehicles, so if you want to get a good deal on one, you better shop around and maybe avoid those ridiculous markups.
