The Empire State Building “stands for the King” with photo opportunity on the Iron Throne and visit to the cast

NEW YORK — New York City is all about the King. The Empire State Building (ESB) today unveiled a “House of the Dragon” takeover for fans at its world-famous Observatory Experience, in partnership with Max, featuring a photo opportunity with the iconic Iron Throne, a visit from the cast of the series and a unique photo opportunity from the “Game of Thrones” universe on the 80th Floor.

“Our iconic Empire State Building Observatory has been transformed into Westeros in an epic ‘House of the Dragon’ takeover that fans won’t want to miss,” said Tony Malkin, Chairman and CEO of ESRT. “This limited-time takeover offers fans a once-in-a-lifetime chance to immerse themselves in the series in the most authentic New York City setting.”

  • Ascend the throne – House of the Dragon fans can sit in the most dangerous seat in the realm from June 10-18 and rule from the Iron Throne on the Grand Staircase of the Observatory.
  • Enter Westeros – Visitors can be among the first to experience Zynga’s mobile game “Game of Thrones: Legends” and have their photo taken with a personalized video in an interactive photo booth at the 80th Annual Game of Thrones Floor from 10-18 June.
  • “TEAM GREEN” LIGHTS – On Monday, June 10, the world-famous tower lights of the Empire State Building will sparkle green.
  • ROYAL VISIT – House of the Dragon stars Olivia Cooke, Fabien Frankel, Tom Glynn-Carney, Ewan Mitchell and Phia Saban visited the Empire State Building to tour the iconic Observatory Experience and flip the switch in a lighting ceremony.
  • DRAGON FOOD – From June 10-18, local favorite Tipsy Scoop will offer guests ages 21 and older a booze-infused dragon fruit sorbet garnished with Dragon’s Breath rock candy and a mini dragon figurine in a pop-up on the building’s 86th Floor.

The Empire State Building’s Observatory recently underwent a $165 million makeover, adding a dedicated visitor entrance, a nine-gallery immersive museum, brand new custom-designed uniforms for observatory guests, and a new 102and Observation deck on the floor with unparalleled views.
