The Los Angeles Chargers chose violence when announcing their 2024-2025 NFL schedule.

The football team’s social media account uploaded a three-minute-plus video based on the popular video game “The Sims” on Wednesday, May 15 – and no NFL team was spared. When announcing each game and its respective dates, the Chargers created Sims characters with notable moments and players.

Perhaps the most anticipated was the announcement that the Chargers would play the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4, September 29th.

An animated version of Travis And Jason Kelce appeared while apparently recording their “New Heights” podcast. Both soccer stars had a thought bubble with a squirrel in it. Then probably a blonde woman with bangs Taylor Swift, knocked on the window and Travis met them outside to board a private plane. (Yes, Travis’ now-viral “Squirle” tweet from 2011 was also featured in the video.)

Since the Chargers will play the Chiefs twice during the season, there was a second indication of the team’s newsworthy moments. In announcing that the second Chargers vs. Chiefs game of Week 14 will take place on December 8, the video referenced the Chiefsaholic trial from earlier this year, in which a team superfan known for dressing up as a wolf to attend games, found guilty of a fight, a bank robbery. (The fan, Xavier Michael BubudarIn April, he was ordered to pay $10.8 million to a bank employee he attacked with a gun.)

Perhaps the most recent of the three Chiefs references came when a player wearing a No. 7 Chiefs jersey put a cake in the oven. This seemed to be a direct hit Harrison Butker and his recent controversial opening statement.

Butker, a kicker for the Chiefs – and No. 7 player on the team – made headlines earlier this week after praising his “housewife” wife. Isabelleand encourage other graduate women to take on this role. (He also mentioned Swift and her “Bejeweled” lyrics about familiarity leading to contempt.)

“Congratulations to the ladies here today on this amazing accomplishment,” he said May 11 during a speech at Benedictine College in Kansas. “You should be proud of everything you have achieved so far in your young life. I would like to address you directly because I believe that you, the women, have been told the most diabolical lies.”
