The 2024 NFL Schedule Includes Games in São Paulo, London, Munich, Thanksgiving Triple-headers and Netflix Christmas Games

The NFL continues its expansion into the overseas market with today’s announcement of the league’s full 2024 schedule. Three games are planned for London, the first league game in South America is on the opening weekend and a game in Munich, Germany is also planned.

It all begins on Thursday, September 5th when a rematch of the AFC Championship Game takes place between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens added battering ram back Derrick Henry to their team, a matchup to watch. The game is outside the league’s Thursday night deal with Amazon Prime and will air on NBC.

On Friday, the action moves to the Corinthians Arena in São Paulo, Brazil, when the first NFL game in South America begins. The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a disappointing season, but will look to bounce back under rejuvenated quarterback Jalen Hurts and new backfield threat Saquon Barkley. The Green Bay Packers will look to run them back with rising quarterback Jordan Love.

After most of the league takes the field on Sunday, the New York Jets travel to Santa Clara, California, to face the San Francisco 49ers, who are facing an overtime loss in the Super Bowl, in the first Monday night game of 2024. The Jets’ hopes rest on quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who lasted one streak in 2023 before a torn Achilles tendon ended his season. The 49ers will start with young quarterback Brock Purdy, who has now firmly established himself as the team’s leader.

The annual Thanksgiving tripleheader and second annual Black Friday game are also back for more. On Turkey Day, the Detroit Lions face the Chicago Bears, the New York Giants face the Dallas Cowboys and the Miami Dolphins face the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in Wisconsin.

On Black Friday, the silver and black Las Vegas Raiders will take on the Super Bowl champion and long-time rival Kansas City Chiefs. The game begins at 3:00 p.m. ET and 12:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

The non-US schedule after the opening week sees the NY Jets take on the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5 at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Next week, the experienced London Jacksonville Jaguars (they played back-to-back games there last year) take on the Chicago Bears and rookie No. 1 draft choice Caleb Williams, the pride of USC. This game also takes place at Tottenham.

The Jags return the following week against the New England Patriots at Wembley Stadium in London.

In week 10 the New York Giants will meet the Carolina Panthers in Munich. This is the third NFL game in Germany.

ESPN’s 2024-25 NFL schedule features 25 games, 21 of which are Monday Night Football matchups, the return of the Week 18 doubleheader on Saturday, a Super Wild Card and divisional playoff game on Monday night.

Notable Thursday night matchups on Prime include the Dallas Cowboys-New York Giants war in Week 4, the divisional showdown between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks in Week 6, the Minnesota Vikings vs. the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8 and the Rams vs. 49ers battle.

Fox Sports’ NFL slate heads to the first Super Bowl rematch in network history in Week 7 when the San Francisco 49ers host the Kansas City Chiefs. But just as interesting is Week 1, in which former New England star Tom Brady makes his broadcast debut and analyzes the Dallas Cowboys against the Cleveland Browns.

CBS Sports will have 10 national Sunday doubleheader windows this season, starting in Week 2 with the two-time defending champion Chiefs Hosted by the Cincinnati Bengals. It’s a showdown between the two teams that have represented the AFC in each of the last five Super Bowls. The Chiefs will appear in eight regular season games on CBS.

As Deadline previously reported, Netflix will host a Christmas Day doubleheader featuring the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Houston Texans vs. the Baltimore Ravens. After this year, the streaming giant will broadcast at least one holiday game in the next three years.
