Tata Nexon Will Soon Get Panoramic Sunroof: Mahindra XUV 3XO Effect [Video]

The sunroof is one of the features that makes or breaks a lot of car buyers. This special function is very popular, which is why many manufacturers also offer it in lower versions. The recently launched Mahindra XUV 3OO comes with an electric sunroof in the lower variants while the higher versions get the panoramic sunroof. Looks like Tata Motors has also taken inspiration from Mahindra and decided to offer this feature. Recently, a video of a Tata Nexon SUV with a panoramic sunroof has been doing rounds on the internet.

The video was shared by Bunny Punia on his Instagram page. In this video we see a Tata Nexon SUV parked at the manufacturing facility. We see a person sitting in the Nexon and talking about the car. The person recording the video does not show what the SUV looks like from the outside.

There will be no cosmetic changes as Tata has recently updated the SUV. The only update on this vehicle will be the sunroof. It looks like the manufacturer has already started work on the panoramic sunroof.

We see the person opening the sunroof of the Nexon. The car is in the factory and it looks like the manufacturer is currently thoroughly testing this new addition.

The person recording the video can be heard saying that this version has not yet reached retailers. We can expect it to be available from retailers in the next few weeks. We see the cabin of the Tata Nexon in this video and everything looks the same as before. We see Tata’s new double-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo in the middle. The car also comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster.

Nexon gets panoramic sunroof

Tata already offers the Nexon with an electric sunroof; However, with the launch of the XUV 3OO, the competition intensified. The Mahindra XUV 3OO even offers features like Level 2 ADAS, which no other manufacturer offers in this segment. This is actually a classic example of how healthy competition benefits the customer.

With the introduction of a panoramic sunroof in the Nexon, customers now have more options. It remains to be seen whether Tata will offer the panoramic sunroof only on the higher variants or on all sunroof versions. The Tata Nexon is available with both petrol and diesel engines.

The petrol version of the Nexon is powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 118 bhp and a maximum torque of 170 Nm. This engine option is available with manual, AMT and DCA transmission options. The diesel version, on the other hand, uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 113 horsepower and a maximum torque of 260 Nm. The diesel version is available with manual and AMT transmission options.

The price of a brand new Tata Nexon starts from Rs 7.99 lakh ex-showroom and goes up to Rs 15.80 lakh ex-showroom. The updated version of the Tata Nexon with panoramic sunroof is expected to be in the same price segment as the current version. We also expect Mahindra to introduce this feature with Nexon.ev as well.
