T20 World Cup 2024: Will Yashasvi Jaiswal Be Left Out of India’s 11 Matches? Varun Aaron’s Stunning Revelation

The young opening batsman of Rajasthan Royals (RR). Yashaswi JaiswalIPL’s current poor form in the ongoing IPL 2024 has become a hot topic of discussion among cricket experts as he will represent India in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

However, Varun Aarona former India pacer and commentator, backed Yashasvi and dismissed concerns about the form of India’s opener and its impact on India’s 2024 T20 World Cup prospects.

Aaron argued that Jaiswal’s century in IPL 2024 shows that he is in form and it is only due to lack of commitment that he has problems, which he believes the RR star will fix soon.

I think Yashaswi Jaiswal is in form: Varun Aaron

When asked if Yashaswi Jaiswal’s form is a cause for concern for India in the 2024 T20 World Cup, Varun Aaron said on ESPNCricinfo: “No, I think Yashaswi is in shape. When a player scores a century in the IPL, he is in form. There is an application deficiency that he will address soon.”

Notably, Yashasvi has so far amassed just 348 runs at a below-par average of 29, despite scoring a century in his 13 appearances for the RR in the ongoing IPL 2024. Well, the conversation then shifted to the inconsistency that is troubling the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL as the franchise has not reached the playoffs since 2014.

Aaron acknowledged the PBKS’ inconsistent performance in recent years while emphasizing the impact of frequent changes in team selection. He noticed: “Yes, Punjab has been inconsistent in the last few years. If you look at their selection, especially in the last game, they didn’t let Kagiso Rabada or Harpreet Brar play. If there are too many changes in a team, it is difficult for the player and also affects the performance.”

Aaron spoke about RR’s decision to bat first after winning the toss against PBKS and defended Sanju Samson’s move, saying it was the right decision considering the conditions in Guwahati.

However, he criticized the lack of application in RR’s middle-order batting performance as they suffered a 5-wicket defeat against PBKS in match number 65 of the ongoing IPL 2024 on Wednesday, May 15.

The commenter added: “Towards the end there was no more beating in the middle class. If they had scored 160-170 in the middle order, it would have been difficult for Punjab to chase them.”

RR is not dependent on Buttler; Common changes affecting PBKS: Varun Aaron

When asked if RR’s IPL 2024 campaign will end in the playoffs with the departure of Jos Buttler, Aaron denied it by highlighting the contributions of other players like Samson, Riyan Parag and Yashasvi.

He said, “I don’t think they are dependent on Butler. Butler scored a century in one match. But in all other games, the contributions of Sanju, Riyan and Yashasvi are not dependent on Butler.”

Aaron also said that if Riyan had been supported by the other players, the RR could have put 170 runs on the board and the result might have been different from the PBKS. He was also disappointed that PBKS could not use Harpreet Brar throughout the season.

Aaron said goodbye with the words: “I think they used it well in the first half. If you don’t give him a match and give him one or two overs, then obviously you’re not using him properly.”
