Sanju Samson’s performance in IPL 2024:

Sanju Samson has been selected for the World Cup based on his performance in the ongoing IPL 2024. He has led Rajasthan Royals from the front this season and is their second-highest run-scorer. In 13 games so far, he has scored 504 runs with the help of five half-centuries.

Furthermore, Gautam Gambhir praised Samson for the way he has led his team in the IPL so far. Gambhir also hoped that Samson would make the most of his captaincy experience in the IPL by doing well for Team India in the World Cup.

“Just the quality of a player. I don’t have to see much. Five minutes is enough to find out what kind of player he is.” Gambhir said.

“Mentally you continue to grow, also in terms of your skills. Otherwise, if you stagnate, you won’t be able to survive much longer. The good thing is, be it fitness, batting, holding or captaincy… he hasn’t made a mistake.

“With the captaincy you start to have better access, better judgment and better reading. Then you will become a better batsman. I hope Samson’s captaincy reflects his batting performance in the T20 World Cup if he gets a chance.” he added.

Meanwhile, the Samson-led Royals have already secured their place in the IPL 2024 playoffs. A win over Kolkata Knight Riders in their final league game could also give them a place in the top two.
