Nitish Kumar has been signed by SRH for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at his base price of Rs 20 lakh. Nitish had a disappointing performance in IPL 2023. He played only two games without batting and conceded 54 runs in five overs without a wicket.

However, the 20-year-old has made use of his second chance and emerged as an important player for SRH in IPL 2024. The young batsman has contributed significantly to the team’s impressive performance this season. SRH has achieved seven wins from twelve games.

After an outstanding performance in this IPL season, Nitish Kumar Reddy was picked by Godavari Titans for a hefty sum of INR 15.6 Lakhs. The all-rounder is now the most expensive player in the history of the Andhra Premier League.

Reddy had an unforgettable reaction when he saw his name during the auction and a video capturing the moment has since gone viral on social media platforms across the internet.

Reddy was picked up by the Godavari Titans during the auction in Vizag on May 16. The tournament will feature six teams vying for the championship including Bezawada Tigers, Coastal Riders, Rayalaseema Kings, Vizag Warriors and Uttarandhra Lions.

Nitish Kumar Reddy has proven to be a crisis man for SRH, always providing crucial runs when required. The right-handed batsman has scored 239 runs in seven innings at an impressive average of 47.80 and an equally impressive strike rate of 152.22.

The young batsman hit two half-centuries and scored a best of 76 runs against Rajasthan Royals (RR). He has taken three wickets at an average of 28.67 and an economy rate of 9.38, with his best bowling figures being 2/17 against Delhi Capitals (DC).

Suddenly SRH held me – Nitish Kumar Reddy

The 20-year-old cricketer recently expressed his desire to be a match-winner. He mentioned that he was surprised when SRH retained him. Reddy stressed the importance of mental preparation, especially in adverse situations.

“I even thought no one would pick me and suddenly SRH retained me. I thought, ‘I still have to work a little bit,'” Reddy told ESPNcricinfo.

“We know it won’t work every time. It’s not that we are tough on the opponents all the time, but a bad game, a bad ball, things like that happen and we have to be ready for early wickets. You can see that below.” “First we scored big runs and then we collapsed.” Reddy added.

Reddy got a chance to showcase his mettle in IPL 2024 when he came in for Mayank Agarwal in the game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He made an impressive contribution by scoring 14 runs in eight balls, including six crucial runs against Deepak Chahar.
