SRH vs GT: Hanuma Vihari Brutally Attacks Jio Cinema for Ignoring Sunrisers Hyderabad

Andhra Pradesh batsman Hanuma Vihari has brutally criticized IPL broadcaster Jio Cinema for ignoring him Sunrisers Hyderabad in her latest post on X.

Sunrisers Hyderabad are just one win away from confirming their place in the IPL 2024 playoffs as they are in the race along with CSK and RCB. A win in the last two games can also help SRH finish the league phase in second place after Shreyas Iyer Kolkata Knight Riders.

Hyderabad had built one of the most expensive teams in IPL 2024 as they had spent heavily on buying Pat Cummins and Travis Head. While Cummins fetched a price tag of 20.75 crores, Head joined Orange Army in a deal worth over 7 crores. The Australian World Cup winners have done well so far and are expected to help them reach the play-offs after falling behind a number of times this season.

Hanuma Vihar takes aim at Jio Cinema with a 3-word tweet

Hanuma Vihari took to X (formerly Twitter) yesterday to express his frustration over probably not seeing his former IPL franchise in the Jio Cinema play-offs. The right-hand batsman, who played for the Orange Army from 2013 to 2015, was one of us all who figured out why IPL 2024 digital broadcasters failed to bring to life the image of Pat Cummins among the captains in the race for the top spot 4.

SRH is the team that has crossed the 200-run mark several times and has one of the most aggressive batting units, but Jio Cinema felt they didn’t deserve a spot. Furthermore, Sunrisers are one of the reasons why the TRP of IPL 2024 rose extremely high as their players were responsible for causing carnage with their batting.

Be it Travis Head’s hammering, Abhishek Sharma’s sixes or Heinrich Klaasen’s fierce batting, SRH has given Jio Cinema a lot of viewership. Not only they, but also the official television channel Star Sports have benefited from the Orange Army’s performance this season.

Regarding Sunrisers not appearing in the Jio Cinema segment, Hanuma Vihari claimed that they made SRH feel like WWE Superstar John Cena.

As we all know, John Cena is one of the biggest names in the entertainment wrestling scene, whose famous slogan is: “You can not see me”. This particular slogan was also a big meme material on social media and Hanuma Vihari referenced it in his tweet.

To provide a bit more context, Hanuma Vihari reposted a Jio Cinema post showing Sanju Samson in the playoffs after last night’s result. Behind Sanju were Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni, whose teams are also in the race for the top four. Sunrisers Hyderabad were not included in the post, almost as if they had no chance. But in reality, they are the closest to making the playoffs.

Regarding Jio Cinema keeping SRH out of the post on X, Hanuma Vihari wrote: “SRH = JOHN PRICE”that represents – “You can’t see SRH in the top four race”

How did the fans react to that?

Fans had mixed reactions to Hanuma Vihari’s hilarious tweet. While one fan wrote: Everyone writes off SRH. Pat should shut up by winning the trophy..

Another fan took aim at Jio Cinema for ignoring SRH in the post and highlighting CSK and RCB to generate huge viewership. JioCinema Hindi keeps ignoring SRH, who are at the top of the race, just because they want the RCB-CSK duel for viewership.” But there was one fan who understood Vihari’s sarcasm and wrote: Relax with us, Bois Hanuman Anna.
