SRH vs GT: Aakash Chopra Picks Three Players to Watch Out for in the Upcoming Match

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra picked Travis Head among SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) players to watch in the upcoming match against Gujarat Titans (GT). Aakash Chopra stated that Travis Head was effective although his batting style was not elegant.

The Pat Cummins-led team will take on the Shubman Gill-led team at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday, May 16. The Hyderabad team is placed fourth in the 10-team points table while the Titans are in eighth place.

The Hyderabad-based team will be aiming to win their next game to secure a spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 playoffs. The win will also help the SRH team finish in the top two. The Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, have already pulled out of the event.

It’s very difficult to go beyond the two openers – Aakash Chopra

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra picked Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma as key players for SRH in the upcoming match. Chopra praised both players for their hitting ability and noted their slightly different styles.

“It is very difficult to get past the opening two games. One is Travis Head and next to him is Abhishek Sharma. Both are incredible players and both hit a lot. They have slightly different playing styles.” Chopra said.

“Travis Head – who appears to be trying to hit the ball hard. He is a bit short in stature, opens his front leg and plays over the line a lot. His stroke is not beautiful, but why do you need beauty? She “It’s not a picture that has to be beautiful.” he added.

Travis Head is the leading run-getter for SRH in IPL 2024. Head has scored 533 runs at an average of and strike rate of 201.89. Abhishek is the second highest run-getter for SRH, hitting 401 runs at an average of 36.45 and a strike rate of 205.64.

A style slightly similar to Yuvraj Singh

The cricketer-turned-commentator drew parallels between the batting styles of Abhishek Sharma and Yuvraj Singh. Chopra described Abhishek’s technique as traditional and orthodox and stated that he could hit sixes effectively.

“If you see Abhishek Sharma, he plays with a high backlift, a style slightly similar to Yuvraj Singh, slightly traditional and orthodox, looking like a player who uses the long levers. He also hits sixes and very far. So these are my two players,” Chopra further explained.

Aakash Chopra picked Pat Cummins as the bowler SunRisers Hyderabad should keep an eye on against Gujarat Titans. Chopra praised Cummins for his captaincy and bowling skills. He explained that he targets the batsmen’s weaknesses.

Cummins has taken 14 wickets in 12 innings at an economy rate of 9.25. Only T. Natarajan has taken more wickets than the Australian pacer in the SunRisers Hyderabad squad this season.
