Russel Martin has several injury concerns ahead of West Brom’s visit: goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu is out with an Achilles tendon injury and Juan Larios is also out with a thigh injury.

Stuart Armstrong could feature in some capacity after missing the last few games, while Che Adams, who has scored 16 goals in the Championship this season, is likely to return after a calf injury which ruled him out of the first leg .

Predicted Southampton line-up (3-5-2): McCarthy; Harwood-Bellis, Bednarek, Stephens; Walker-Peters, Smallbone, Downes, Aribo, Manning; Armstrong, Adams.

Carlos Corberan

Carlos Corberan only has two guaranteed absences for the second leg at Southampton, with striker Daryl Dike and midfielder Jayson Molumby both sidelined.

West Brom could play with the same lineup that managed a draw at the Hawthorns, although striker Josh Maja could return to the bench.

Expected formation of West Brom (4-2-3-1): Palmer; Furlong, Bartley, Kipre, Townsend; Yokuslu, Mowatt; Fellows, Diangana, Johnston; Thomas Asante.

West Brom’s away record is far less impressive than their home record this season, with the Baggies potentially falling short against a Southampton side who have won both of their league games this season.

It should be a tense and tense affair, as play-off games often are, but Southampton’s special quality makes them favorites to see off an Albion side that is destined for greatness or capable of ridiculous things.

Prediction: Southampton 2-0 West Brom
