‘Sister Wives’ Star Garrison Brown’s Cause of Death Confirmed

According to an autopsy report obtained by ET from the Coconino County Medical Examiner, the 25-year-old son of Janelle And Kody Brown died of a gunshot wound to the head on March 5 at his home in Flagstaff, Arizona. His manner of death was ruled a suicide.

The report also states that the Sister wives Star’s blood alcohol level (BAL) was as high as 0.370% and that ethanol poisoning – also known as alcohol poisoning – is believed to be a contributing factor in the death.

According to the University of Rochester, a BAL of 0.3% or higher causes a person to be in a “daze” with “little understanding of where you are.” A BAL of 0.35% or greater “also happens to correspond to the level of surgical anesthesia. At this point you may stop breathing.”

Flagstaff Police Department confirmed in a statement to ET Back in March, they reported that they were sent to Garrison’s residence and found him dead after his younger brother Gabriel called him. Garrison appeared to have suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said at the time.

Just hours after Garrison’s death was first reported, Janelle and Kody — who separated in 2022 after nearly 30 years of their spiritual marriage — split. released a statement They confirm the news and express their grief over the loss of their third son and fourth child together.

“Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown,” the statement read. “He was a bright spot in the lives of everyone who knew him. His loss will leave such a gap in our lives that it will take our breath away.”

Kody posted the same message on his own account, changing the language to read, “Janelle and I are deeply saddened.”

In the two months since, Janelle, 55, has used her social media page to remember her son, who would have turned 26 in early April.

Around the time of his birthday, the reality TV star posted a heartbreaking tribute to Garrison, in which the grieving mother of six shared photos and videos of her son on his birthday over the years.

“Happy Birthday darling. We miss you terribly today. It’s hard to believe you’re not here anymore,” she wrote in the caption, accompanied by a whistled version of “Happy Birthday.”

She continued, “We talked about you a lot today and even went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse (your favorite place 😀)… Sometimes I still feel you near me. And I am grateful that we will meet again after my journey is complete.”

Janelle also found comfort in her loyal fan base, who stood by her and offered her support throughout the difficult ordeal.
