RR vs PBKS: Captain Sam Curran Played “out of Pride” Before Leaving for England.

The 65th match of IPL 2024 was played between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.

The game was a testament to how much RR’s form has deteriorated over the course of the IPL season, especially after their fourth consecutive defeat.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss, elected to bat and scored 144/9. PBKS managed to score 145 points and win the game. Punjab Kings are at 9th place in the 10-team points table while RR retains their spot at 2nd position.

“It gave me a lot of pride to play,” Curran said

In the post-match period, PBKS young captain Sam Curran expressed the team’s joy at today’s win. He also praised the team’s bowling in today’s game.

For the PBKS bowlers, restricting the Royals to 144 was an excellent performance, even if the pitch was slower. Especially when there were many 200 scorer matches in IPL 2024.

Curran appreciated the team’s bowlers and said the team played out of “pride”.

“We bowled really well as a group. The message was that we were very proud to play.” Curran was quoted as saying.

“Ellis was absolutely amazing in his first game of the season. Probably should have played it sooner. When I went in Jonny said it was pretty hard. It lasted a little. I didn’t have to take too many risks. “I knew we just needed a few sixes on a ground like that,” he added.

Sam and Jonny leave the team in the middle of the season

Sam Curran and Jonny Bairstow will leave their IPL team ahead of the playoffs this season along with Rajasthan Royals’ Jos Buttler.

In a bold move, England cricketers are returning to their home country to prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup in what they are calling a “national duty”.

“Me and Jonny are leaving tomorrow. Obviously beautiful. I really enjoyed the season and enjoyed being captain. The atmosphere in the group was really good. “I’m looking forward to the World Cup.” Said Sam Curran.

Looking back, Curran looks at the team’s successes and is confident about the future, despite being second to last in the points table. He also appreciated Shashank Singh, Ashutosh Sharma, Harshal Patel and Arshdeep Singh from the team.

“Hindsight is a wonderful thing. We had so many close games. Feeling like the team is on the verge of something. Who knows what the future will bring. Lots of positives. The chase in Calcutta. The way Shashank Singh has been included in the team is amazing. Also Ashutosh. Harshal and Arshdeep bowled well,” Curran added.
