In a bold criticism of the ICC, Lalit Modi did not hold back and labelled the apex council as the “International Council of Crooks”. Venting his frustration on microblogging platform X, Modi expressed his dissatisfaction with the governing body’s practices, signalling a stance against what he perceived as unethical behaviour. His outspoken remarks underlined his unyielding stance on issues of cricket administration and management.
He said: “I am shocked to learn that @ICC is selling Diamond Club tickets for $20,000 per seat for the #indvspak WC match. The WC in the US is for game expansion and fan engagement, not to make a profit from gate receipts. $2,750 for a ticket. This is simply #notcricket #intlcouncilofcrooks.”
