King Charles III. recently opened for Rod Stewart about cancer treatment.
Stewart, 79, met the 75-year-old royal at the King’s Foundation’s inaugural awards ceremony on Tuesday, June 11. The “Sailing” singer, who serves as an ambassador for the charity, said Charles told him he had been undergoing treatment that same day.
“I went through all of this. I was treated five days a week,” Stewart said. The Daily Post“I used to work like him. He is remarkable.”
Stewart was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2016 and announced he was over the hill after a three-year battle. Charles, for his part, is being treated for a “form of cancer,” Buckingham Palace said in February. The monarch, who received his diagnosis after undergoing surgery for an enlarged prostate, was advised to “delay public duties,” but for now he continued “state business and official paperwork as normal.”

In April, Charles resumed his public duties, and the palace released an announcement to mark the occasion. “His Majesty The King will shortly return to his public duties following a period of treatment and recovery following his recent cancer diagnosis,” a statement said at the time. “To mark this milestone, The King and Queen will visit a cancer treatment centre together next Tuesday, where they will meet medical specialists and patients.”
Charles was in good spirits as he was spotted entering the hospital, where he and his wife waved to a cheering crowd.
