The Last of Us
The Last of Us season 2 is packing up and moving on. It’s not jumping the network, of course, as one of HBO’s new crown jewels, but it’s moving to record space.
Part 1 was shot in Alberta, Canada, which represented different areas in the US, and made changes to the cities based on what they had to work on. But now Season 2 is leaving the province and heading to Vancouver, British Columbia instead.
If you play the second game you know why this is (no real spoilers follow), because the main part of the game takes place in the city south of Vancouver, Seattle. So the idea is good that they will try to make one Pacific Northwest City double for another. As for why they’re still filming and Canada and not Seattle itself, well, thanks to the tax break in Canada, of course, that’s why so many things are shot there.
This move has fueled the previously reported idea that season 2 of The Last of Us is jumping into Season 2 of the game. I wonder if parts of the show will be filmed at the faux-Wyoming Jackson location they set up earlier, but that’s only needed for a few scenes early on.
While the move itself didn’t give away much of the plot, there isn’t much to say since we know they’re following the events of the second game which brings us to Seattle so I can’t really get into it. In addition to this, Craig Mazin previously stated that Part 2 of the game may require two seasons to complete, due to its size. After that, the game takes us to Santa Barbara, CA, for a follow-up, and we’ll see if they can bring this to Canada in some way, through more TV magic.
The Last of Us Part 2
If we start to learn more about changing the recording environment, there is no doubt in this list that there are other information to come. Simply put, what is expected is the casting of the main friend Abby, who should be a big presence in the next two seasons (the last?), and we only have fan opinions, which are often wrong, from there. . We thought we saw Dina in season 1 in Jackson, but it is not known if the same actress, Paolina van Kleef, also has an important role in season 2. Recasting is probably easier, if they want to do it, depending on how it was the moment we saw her.
Mazin and Druckmann have already promised that we will see more infected people in the second season, maybe because of the big budget from HBO, and moving to urban areas here you can expect to see more infected people, than outside. American territories. But we need to see the meaning of “more” about the virus. More to come.
