Donald Trump: Taylor Swift is “beautiful,” but She’s a Liberal

Donald Trump speaks out again about Taylor Swift.

And once again, his supporters and their fans probably wish that the controversial presidential candidate would just keep quiet on this particular issue.

Trump’s recent comments about Taylor come from a forthcoming book by diversity Co-Editor-in-Chief Ramin Setoodeh.

Donald Trump shares his thoughts on Taylor Swift

“She has great star qualities. She really does,” Trump says of Taylor in “Apprentice in Wonderland”: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett led America through the looking glass (above page six).

“I think she’s beautiful – very beautiful! I think she’s very beautiful. I think she’s liberal,” the former president continued.

“She probably doesn’t like Trump. I’ve heard she’s very talented. I actually find her very beautiful – unusually beautiful!”

Trump further admitted that he did not know Taylor’s music “well” before speculating about her political views:

“But she is liberal, or is that just an act?” he asked Setoodeh.

“She’s really liberal? She’s not acting? I’m surprised a country star can be a successful liberal,” Trump continued.

“Garth Brooks is liberal. Explain that! How come? But he is liberal. That’s one of those things…”

Setoodeh writes that Trump then “after[ed] out of.”

Taylor is not a fan of Trump’s

Taylor kept her political views to herself for most of her career, and her friendship with Karlie Kloss (who is married to Joshua Kushner, the brother of Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner) led many to believe she might be a secret member of the MAGA Nation.

But the pop icon made things clear in 2018 when she publicly endorsed Tennessee state Democratic candidates Phil Bredesen for the Senate and Jim Cooper for the House of Representatives.

“In the past, I have been reluctant to publicly express my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world over the past two years, I now feel very differently about it,” she explained on Instagram at the time.

“I have always voted and will continue to vote based on which candidate protects and fights for the human rights that I believe we are all entitled to in this country.”

In 2020, Taylor supported Joe Biden’s presidential candidacy and said V Magazine at the time that she thought he had “a chance to start the healing process [the US] so urgently needs.”

That same year, Taylor tweeted about her desire to “vote [Trump] will be released in November.”

Taylor vs. Trump: The fight continues

At one point, she accused the then president of exacerbating existing racial tensions for the benefit of his election campaign:

“After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, do you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence?” Taylor tweeted during the 2020 election.

“‘When the looting starts, the shooting starts’???” she added before tagging Trump.

So, Trump probably won’t dance to The “Tortured Poets” section while he is on the campaign trail this summer.

But he should resist the temptation to start a fight with Taylor. After all, he has bigger problems to deal with at the moment.
