Brad Pitt is Accused of “criminal Theft” in a Countersuit Against New Winery

According to the countersuit, Pitt allegedly diverted Château Miraval’s assets to various ancillary companies “by financing them with Château Miraval’s money and/or allowing them to use Château Miraval’s image, premises and assets for compensation of zero or to use below the market price.”

“Pitt and Mondo Bongo have made Château Miraval their personal piggy bank,” the countersuit states. “They carried out a series of transactions using Château Miraval’s funds that deprived Tenute of the profits and loan repayments to which it was entitled.”

“Pitt and Jolie purchased the castle as a home for their children and the vineyard as a family business,” court documents said at the time. “They agreed that they would never sell their respective shares in Miraval without each other’s consent. The couple spent the holidays with their children in Miraval and married there in 2014.”

Earlier this year, Pitt suffered a setback in the case when a judge dismissed several of his complaints against Jolie over the property.

“The judge dismissed most of Mr. Pitt’s claims because they had no legal basis,” Jolie’s attorney said. Paul Murphy, said in a statement, noting that she bears “no ill will” toward her estranged husband. “Mr. Pitt’s lawsuit was never about a business dispute; instead, it is about his attempts to cover up serious abuses, and we are pleased that the judge dismissed much of Mr. Pitt’s complaint.”
