Anurag Kashyap’s Daughter Aaliyah Kashyap Disappointed After Promoting Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Film ‘Animal’: ‘They Agreed it Was a Terrible Film’: Bollywood News – Bollywood Hungama

Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap has uploaded a picture in which filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga is praising his film animal whereupon his daughter Aaliyah becomes discouraged.

Anurag Kashyap’s daughter Aaliyah Kashyap was disappointed after he promoted Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Animal: “They agreed it was a terrible film.”

Aaliyah Kashyap recently invited her father, director Anurag Kashyap, to her podcast where she addressed the issue of his picture in which Vanga expressed that she didn’t like the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal.

On her podcast “Young, Dumb & Anxious,” she shared that she wasn’t happy with the post. She said, “The caption of the post where you promoted the guy, which I wasn’t very happy about.” She recalled being spiteful towards Anurag about the “terrible, misogynistic” film and that the director agreed with her had. “I actually saw it animal and immediately called you and ranted, “What a terrible, misogynistic movie this is and how much I hated it,” and you agreed with me. A week later, when I opened Instagram, I saw a post from my dad promoting a man I was making fun of.”

Anurag then responded to his daughter’s disappointment and shared that like Vanga, he too is a canceled filmmaker at the peak of his career and is aware of how lonely it can get. “You were much younger when your father got canceled for his films. After Dev D came out, I got canceled by a lot of people. I was the untouchable. People said, “What a misogynistic movie!” Gangs of Wasseypur I too had a similar fate, although my characters had agencies. I’ve often seen people isolate someone, attack someone, and that’s not the way to be,” he said.

He continued: “I don’t understand social media, but before social media there were blogs and I was a blogger. I used to do the same thing against the entire industry because I always thought that the entire industry was my enemy. I was very hard and angry and so on. I would talk about Karan Johar and other people in the industry. I remember posting Dabangg, I had a fight with Salman Khan. I mean, I started railing against him. I had a lot of trouble with myself. I was also isolated without people understanding. Over time, people have started to see things differently and I don’t like cancel culture at all. If I don’t like a film, I ask the person my questions directly, if I know them.”

Anurag talked about meeting Vanga and liking him. He said: “I met him, I like him. I like the guy. I had questions myself and wanted to talk to him about his film. I invited him over and had a five-hour conversation and I like the guy,” he shared.

Anurag will soon make his Malayalam debut as an actor in Aashiq Abu’s upcoming film Rife Club. His new film kennedy Rahul Bhat and Sunny Leone in the lead roles is also set to release.
