The infamous BIG NFT collection unveiled includes Audio of Freestyle

The crypto platform OneOf has unveiled a new NFT partnership with the Christopher Wallace Estate of Notorious BIG, Sky’s the Limit: The Notorious BIG Collection, after the team-up plagued back in March.

The set will feature unique 3D NFT character characters inspired by Biggie’s life, lyrics and style. Anyone who buys an NFT will also get the rights to license audio from an iconic BIG freestyle delivered on a street corner in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn when he was just 17 years old. The audio has so far never been released or made available for sample or download.

“Biggie’s music is a very important part of hip hop culture and it has a worldwide impact,” said Wayne Barrow, Voletta Wallace / Notorious BIG estate manager. “Our business partner, Elliot Osagie of Willingie Inc, came up with the concept to team up with OneOf to share the infamous freestyle that showed the world the icon that Biggie would soon be replaced by an NFT, and to share it with his fans in this way that we are sure would make him proud. “

Joshua James, OneOf Co-Founder & COO, added that this NFT collection represented a “watershed” moment in cryptocurrency.

“We have named this collection the name Sky’s the Limit because we believe this is a watershed moment in NFTs where seminal artists like Biggie and her true fans can drive culture and value together, “he said.” We are pleased to be working with The Christopher Wallace Estate to bring Biggie’s to honor lasting heritage, in web3 and beyond, and we’ve got some great surprises for NFT holders along the way. ”

The collection has been available on OneOf’s website since July 25, and comes after Biggie’s hometown pulled out all the stops to celebrate what would have been the rap legend’s 50th birthday last month. On May 21, the Empire State Building illuminated in red and white and contained a rotating crown around its mast to pay tribute to Biggie’s debut Ready to dieBarclays Center in his Brooklyn neighborhood also played a massive broadcast above the arena entrance that included montages of some of BIG’s biggest tracks.

To close the celebrations, Diddy’s Bad Boy Records released a limited edition vinyl from the diamond-certified, Grammy-nominated album Life after deathDubbed the 25th Anniversary Super Deluxe, the box set has eight LPs and a close booklet full of rare photos from the album’s cover shoot.
