From Mahindra Scorpio-N to Citroen C3

The year 2022 has seen quite a number of EV launches, but that is only one aspect of the sector. Cars with ICE engines are still available and there are some exciting products set to launch this June. From SUVs to mid-size sedans, cars of various types are waiting at Indian showrooms this month. Check out the list of these upcoming cars below, which includes both EV and ICE cars:

Kia EV6 (June 2)

The Kia EV6 has already been shown in all its glory and on June 2 its price will be announced. While foreign markets will get two variants, Kia will launch its GT-Line variant only in India. This will be a limited launch and only 100 units will be available in India. The Kia EV6 GT-Line variant will come equipped with a 77.4 kWh battery pack that is good for 528 km driving range. The battery comes with a single engine, in which its power is rated at 229 hp and 350 Nm of torque with the rear wheel drive. An all-wheel drive with dual-engine variant is also available and the power output is rated at 229 hp and 350 Nm of torque.

The Virtus is based on the same MQB A0 IN platform that also underlines the Skoda Slavia, and it was unveiled worldwide in March. The mid-size sedan will be available in two variants, namely the Dynamic Line and the Performance Line. While the former comes with a 1.0-liter TSI engine that is good for 115 hp and 178 Nm of torque, the latter is available with a 1.5-liter engine that produces 150 hp and 250 Nm of torque. Both motors are available with manual and automatic transmission options. While the 6-speed manual transmission is a common unit, the 1.5-liter TSI gets a 7-speed DCT, and the 1.0-liter TSI gets a 6-speed automatic.

Hyundai Venue Facelift (mids June)

The Hyundai Venue has been one of the most popular sub-4-meter SUVs, and this month it is scheduled for a facelift in the middle of the cycle. Several images of the SUV have already appeared on the net, and as per those photos, the upcoming Venue will have a new front fascia that will also be on display at the updated Tucson and the overseas market-sold Palisade. Mechanically, the 2022 Venue will retain the same 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, 1.2-liter petrol and 1.5-liter diesel engine options.

After several espionages, Mahindra & Mahindra have finally announced the launch date of the ‘Big Daddy of SUVs’, the Scorpio-N. The new Scorpio will be sold alongside the current generation Scorpio aka Scoprio Classic, but the former will command a premium price tag over the latter. Mahindra & Mahindra has already unveiled the exterior design of the upcoming Scorpio-N, showing off its evolutionary body shape that has more rounded corners, compared to the square design of the current generation Scorpio Classic. The new Scorpio will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options, but its specifications will be confirmed on launch day.

Citroën C3 (June)

French manufacturer, Citroen debuted in India with the C5 Aircross, a premium SUV, now the manufacturer is ready to launch its first crossover for the masses, the C3. Based on the company’s CMP modular platform, the C3 will be a sub-4 meter crossover that is expected to be powered by a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine option. When launched, the C3 will compete with the likes of the Tata Punch, Maruti Ignis, and the Nissan Magnite.
