We expect it to launch in June, but a Korean retailer leaked just details of the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 ahead of the official revelation.
As The Verge reports(Opens in a new window)the product list(Opens in a new window) shows that little has changed from one generation to the next. The 2020 Surface Laptop Go runs Windows 10 with a 1GHz Intel Core i5-10351G1 combined with up to 8GB of RAM, and up to a 256GB SSD. If this new mention is correct, upgrade the 2022 model to a Core i5-1135G7 processor and it will ship with Windows 11. Both processors are quad-core 10nm chips, but the Core i5-1135G7 has a larger Smart Cache and higher Turbo frequency.
When we reported on the Go 2 rumors last month, it was expected that the basic configuration of the original, which was shipped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of eMMC storage, would remain. This new product list shows only 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD, which sounds like a much more capable laptop and hopefully is the new basic configuration.
Not much else is different on this budget laptop, which is expected to cost from $ 549 to $ 899 depending on the configuration. Microsoft sticks to the 12.4-inch display and 3: 2 aspect ratio, the same port selection, and there’s no indication that a backlit keyboard has been added. The webcam is still 720p, but the mention states that it has improved over the original, and the battery life is rated at 13.5 hours. The mention also shows four color options, suggesting that the rumored Sage color will be offered alongside Platinum, Ice Blue and Sandstone.

With the Surface Laptop Go 2 expected to arrive in June, and this list leaking the details early, it should not be long before Microsoft decides to make the details official and tell us when we can expect to see the new, small laptop to buy.
