Woman took sleeping pills before crash that pin man between cars, report says

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A woman allegedly took sleeping pills before an accident caught a man between two cars, according to an arrest report by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.

Serena Mueller is facing DUI and other unsafe driving costs following the May 17 crash. The accident happened at Tropicana and Maryland Parkway at 11:36 p.m.

Police said the drivers of a 2020 Toyota Corolla and a 1994 Ford F-150 got out of their cars due to a minor accident. Both drivers set up their hazard lights, the report said.

The driver of the Corolla stepped out to inspect the trunk and sat between his car and the Ford. In 2014 a Toyota Camry did not slow down and hit the back of the Ford, pinning the man between the cars.

A trauma doctor told police that the victim might need amputation of one or not both legs, had a broken pelvis, injured liver, blood in the lungs and injuries to his arms.

The driver of the Camry, identified as Mueller, refused to do field-ness tests and admitted that they were taking sleeping pills, according to the report. Mueller told police she was “taking all kinds of pills” and an officer told “to remember his cases.”

Mueller’s Nebraska self-registration had expired and her Nebraska license had been revoked.

Court records show Mueller was not granted bail. Her next hearing was set for May 23.
