A man and a woman, both in their late 20s, died after jumping from an apartment on the 22nd floor of a group home business in Greater Noida (West) on Friday, police said.
The incident took place at 4pm in the community that falls below the boundaries of the Bisrakh police station in Greater Noida (West), also known as Noida Extension, a senior official said.
“The two dead were known to each other. The flat where the incident took place belonged to the man, while the woman arrived earlier in the day from her home in Ghaziabad,” said Deputy Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Noida). Elamaran G.
The reason behind their extreme move has yet to be determined and further investigation into the case was conducted, he said.
The bodies were in the process of being sent for post-mortem and their families have been informed, the official added.
On Tuesday, a 32-year-old IT professional was found dead in his apartment in a group of housing companies in Noida’s Sector 74 in a suspected case of suicide.
Before that, two women had ended their lives on May 3, during which one of them killed herself in a park in Noida’s Sector 93A, while the other hung herself in her house in the village of Barola.
In February, a 19-year-old student preparing to become a chartered accountant jumped from the balcony of his apartment on the ninth floor in Noida’s sector 74, within weeks of completing a crucial exam hie.
Mental health experts believe that depression can be treated and suicide prevented if first-time observers, such as parents or spouses or friends, recognize the behavioral changes in individuals and talk to them so as not to make them doubt their self-esteem.
