The marriage of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt has been postponed, says her brother Rahul Bhatt: “There is no marriage on April 14.”

It seems that after so much preparation and hype, the marriage of Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor has been postponed. The two actors were set to tie the knot on April 14, something that was confirmed by Alia’s uncle Robin Bhatt. Now, however, the family has said that the marriage will be postponed by about a week. Alia’s half-brother Rahul Bhatt, in an interview on Tuesday, explained that the wedding is not happening now on April 14 and there are also no functions on April 13. Earlier, Robin Bhatt had told the media that a mehendi function had been set for April 13th. The wedding is thought to take place at the home of the Kapoor family in Chembur. The house has been decorated for the past few days and security arrangements have been made.

Speaking to, Rahul said the marriage was postponed after the dates were leaked to the media. He said: “The wedding is happening, it is known to everyone. But there is no wedding on April 13 or 14. That is a sure thing. Actually, the dates were previously the same, but after the information leaked to the media “the dates have changed. Everything has changed because there is a lot of pressure. I give my word that there will be no wedding on April 13 or 14. As far as I know, there will be an announcement soon about the date.”

Alia’s father Mahesh Bhatt, meanwhile, declined to comment. According to a report in Aaj Tak, when asked about the wedding dates, he said he was asked by the mother of Ranbir Kapoor Neetu Kapoor not to talk about it in public. “So how can I ignore her request,” he said.

Alia and Ranbir began dating on the sets of their upcoming film Brahmastra, directed by Ayan Mukerji. The two made their first appearance as a couple at Sonam Kapoor’s wedding reception in 2018.
