New Delhi:

The biggest night of music is the event of the awards season with the boldest look, and the move of the Grammys to Sin City has certainly boosted the edginess – the top names of the sector sat on the red carpet on Sunday, leaving a lot of skin to look. Some of the most iconic fashion looks ever created at the Grammy Awards, such as Jennifer Lopez’s dramatic eye-catching green Versace dress in 2000 or Cardi B’s vintage Thierry Mugler “Venus” dress in 2019.

On Sunday, the trend of nude dresses that emerged a week ago at the Oscars was in full effect at the MGM Grand and basic black jackets took their place. For the men, of course, the memo called for brutal utterances.

Here are some of the top looks of the Grammys red carpet:

(Not so) base black

Olivia Rodrigo is making her Grammys debut, and her arrival was memorable. The 19-year-old, who has garnered seven nominations, went for a body-conscious ’90s look in a figure-hugging black Vivienne Westwood dress with pink accents and a choker, finished off with long gloves.

Grammys favorite Billie Eilish, who is also up for seven awards and is fresh off a win at the Oscars, rocked a deconstructed black suit jacket fashioned in a cape to match her hair and square sunglasses.

Singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile, who is honored for the honor of the record and the song of the year, went for standard black pants, then took a notch with an intricate beaded jacket in a burst of colored crystals

It all remains (almost)

Singer-rapper Doja Cat, one of the best nominees of the night, embraced the current trend of nude dresses: her pure sea-foam green Versace dress with a recessed neckline amazed fashionistas.

Actress Laverne Cox went for a goth lingerie look, in a cinematic John Galliano black dress with dirty plum make-up and bright purple hair. And reality star socialite Paris Hilton was eye-catching silver with strategically placed sequins and a gauzy flowing cape.

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion did not go for a see-through dress, but her slinky leopard print dress with one shoulder with a high leg slit certainly exposed some skin.

Make it colorful

Rapper Saweetie, who was up for two awards, knows how to create a doll of color. She paid homage to Madonna’s “Material Girl” look in a bright fuchsia Valentino ensemble – a bold bikini top, full ball gown skirt and elbow-length gloves, featuring an enormous diamond choker.

For the men, the rainbow colors were on their heads – or in their hair. Justin Bieber, one of the top nominees, arrived in a bright pink knitted hat that almost matched Saweetie’s dress.

DJ Diplo and Colombian singer J Balvin both went for bright blue hair, while Australian rapper The Kid Laroi – against Saweetie for best new artist – appeared with flowing pink locks.
