IPL 2022: Lucknow Super Giants unveils first jersey for next season | Cricket

The 2022 Indian Premier League season begins on March 26 with the finalists of last year’s Chennai Super Kings and the Shreyas Iyer led by Kolkata Knight Riders meet at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The season also sees two new franchises being added to the tournament – Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans. Both sides will meet in their first IPL match on March 28.

On Tuesday, the Lucknow Super Giants unveiled their jersey for the upcoming season of the tournament.

The Lucknow Super Giants were bought by the Sanjiv Goenka-owned RSPG group for INR 7,090 crores. Prior to the mega-auction, the party had KL Rahul (17 crore INR), Marcus Stoinis (9.2 crore INR) and Ravi Bishnoi (4 crore INR) in the ropes.

The side has also released a video for the launch of the jersey.

The franchise finished with 21 players on its list at the end of the two-day auction, which took place in February. Quinton de Kock, Jason Holder, Krunal Pandya, Avesh Khan, and Deepak Hooda are among the key players who will appear for the team next season.

The franchise had named Andy Flower as its head coach, while two-time IPL-winning captain Gautam Gambhir was named as its mentor.
