The University Grants Commission (UGC) on Wednesday announced a further six-month extension for the submission of dissertations by MPhil and PhD students. “Extension of six months, may also be granted for the submission of proof of publication and presentation in two conferences. However, the term of office of scholarship will only last up to five years,” reads the UGC statement.
“Following on from UGC Public Note of 16 March 2021 on the above subject, and in view of the greater importance of the scientists, a further extension of six months to 31.12.2021, that is to say, until 30 June 2022, for the submission of dissertation by M.Phil / Ph.D. students can be granted by the universities, “said the UGC.
“It is also indicated that the extension for M.Phil./Ph.D. dissertation submission until June, 2022 will apply to all such students whose M.Phil./Ph.D. dissertation submission deadline is or by June 30, 2022, “it added.
